Summer 2013 Summer School... Bootle teens gain confidence through small group work workshops

From South Park to Hope Street 

A small , effective creative summer break for Bootle teens in the city , lots of new learning , in and around 2 Blackburne Place.

Detached youth work 2016

We are currently operating on the streets of Kirkdlae /South Sefton at weekends, We are currenly gathering opinions via a Youth 4 Youth Needs Assessment, leafletting and making contact with local organisations. Eve is offering some pampering sessions to young people and we have some thatre opportunities coming up in February .

Pop Up Cafe in South Park-Bootle 

 

When our Turn it Around Shop premises rent rose to  Â£6000 per year, we looked about and found free use of the Park Rangers services . This was a fortuitous arrangement and helped us connect withb many younger people and some older Males in the park

From the streets of Bootle to Bushcraft Survival Training days at Komaru Outdoors.

Once we have established positive working relationships with young people on the streets, we can then offer days out at Bushcraft Training centre 'Komaru Outdoors' where our young learners enjoy a great day of outdoor education with Nick Lynch and Hilary Berg.

The premises at 66 Stanley Road 2011/2012 proved to be a very experiemntal time for Turn it around team . shop front premises attracted all ages to our sessions. Low resources need for this story telling group who used to meet Friday evenings throughout the winter.

 

Turn it Around Youth Shop 2011

 

Our pilot initiative supported by South Sefton Development Trust, BBC Children in Need, Awards for All and JMF , PCT and Police Funding. This helped us establish our work in Bootle South Sefton. The grand opening starring guest Peer Mentor Keighley O'Brien - Co Founder of Turn it Around CIC.

Supported by Splendid Things @ Toxteth TV. Turn it Around mentors recruited, retained and supported 12 Bootle teens .Here  is the invitation to the screening of their film at FACT cinema . several of the group members had dropped out of education , this informal education programme helped them to re-engage with learning.
